Zelensky speaks to the media during a press conference on February 24, 2023

Under Article 5 of the NATO treaty, allies are to view "an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all." Ukraine is not a member of NATO.

In the complete remarks from last month's news conference, Zelensky said during the briefing that marked the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "If it happens so that Ukraine, due to various opinions and weakening, depleting of assistance, loses, Russia is going to enter Baltic states, NATO member states, and then the U.S. will have to send their sons and daughters exactly the same way as we are sending their sons and daughters to war.

"They will have to fight. Because it's NATO that we're talking about, and they will be dying, God forbid, because it's a horrible thing."

Although social media claims that Zelensky was calling on American troops to fight in Ukraine have been debunked, Greene promoted the narrative more than once during her CPAC address.

"I'm still committed to saying, 'No money to Ukraine, and that country needs to find peace not war,'" Greene said on Friday. "I will look at a camera and directly tell Zelensky, 'You better leave your hands off our sons and daughters, because they're not dying over there.'"

This year's CPAC has received national attention over the attendee list. Although the conference has long touted itself as "the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world," a number of prominent Republicans, who have been seen as possible 2024 presidential hopefuls, opted not to attend the four-day event, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

"It's a missed opportunity for any potential presidential candidate to not address the thousands of grassroots activists at CPAC this year," conference spokesperson Megan Powers Small told ABC News last weekend.

CPAC has also drawn controversy after its chairman, Matt Schlapp, was accused of sexually assaulting a former staff member of Herschel Walker's 2022 Senate campaign. Schlapp has denied the allegation.

Dramatic Clip Shows Rescue of Dog Trapped in Pipe: 'Don't Break His Back'

A dramatic video clip of a trapped dog being rescued from an underground pipe by a tools man and his team has left internet users stunned.

The now-viral TikTok video, which can be seen here, shows the tools man walking through a field in the countryside to attend to a dog that's gotten stuck inside a pipe wedged in a deep hole in the mud.

The circumstances that led to the dog falling into the pipe and getting stuck there have not been made clear.

Audiences are shown the tools man, Joe Hewes, and his team hammer away at the pipe with rocks. The crew then dig around the pipe to make way for them to pull the startled dog out to safety. It's unclear how long the dog had been stuck underground, but at the end of the video, TikTok viewers are treated to a heartfelt clip of the dog reuniting with its owner. The dog appears to be a Jack Russell terrier.

Since it was shared to the social media platform on February 27, the video posted under Hewes' social media username @MrHewes has been viewed more than 500,000 times and liked by more than 24,000 users. Hundreds of astounded TikTok users have also expressed their gratitude, through comments under the post, to Hewes and his team for saving the terrified pup.

"Thank God he or she is safe," one user wrote.

Another TikToker added: "Good work guys take a bow."

"So glad that they got it out - well done," a different user commented.

Newsweek has reached out to @MrHewes for comment.

Hewes describes himself as being a Milwaukee-based tools man and military vehicle dealer in his social media bio. His feed appears to be dedicated to documenting his maintenance work on the engines and exhaust tanks of a variety of vehicles.

How Do Animals Get Rescued in Emergency Situations?

Oftentimes when an animal gets stuck in unfortunate circumstances, like the dog in the TikTok video, fire crews or other available emergency teams are alerted to the incident and work to get the animal to safety. According to the U.K.'s National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC), guidance for fire and rescue services attending incidents involving animals is primarily about animal rescue.

"The owner of the animal, or other well-intentioned members of the public, may also be involved in the incident—they will need to be considered in the fire and rescue service's response," the NFCC writes.

"Incidents involving animals may require the rescue or evacuation of an animal. This activity may present hazards to members of the public, the animal or emergency responders," the council continues.

Flare gets NFT platform to increase use cases for interoperability protocols

Flare, the layer-1 Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain, went live on Jan. 10 after it launched two core protocols for decentralized interoperability applications. The blockchain network allows developers to create applications that are interoperable between various blockchain ecosystems and internet platforms.

Less than one month later, on March 2, Flare welcomed the nonfungible token (NFT) platform Sparkles on its layer 1 oracle network.

According to the announcement a primary goal of the Sparkles NFT platform is to hone in on the interoperability of native Flare protocols to increase use cases for NFT utility.

The NFT platform has plans to target other major issues in the space such as intellectual property (IP) rights via attaching on-chain IP licensing to future collections. Sparkles also has plans of decentralizing its core technology and infrastructure after it transitions into a DAO.

Since its launch on Songbird, the canary network for Flare, in Jan. 2022, Sparkles has handled 90% of NFT sales, which accounts for $3.5 million in sales. It currently hosts over 3,200 collections.

Additionally, in 2021 Sparkles joined the Crypto Climate Accord with a pledge to become net-zero by 2023. The platform reports to have achieved an environmentally positive status via carbon credits, which it retired on-chain via the Toucan bridge.

Interoperability is a big theme for the decentralized space going forward in 2023. It is one of the major focuses of many companies and communities in the space to help with scalability and onboarding more users. New tools like trustless bridges have been implemented in order to create safer options for the implementation of interoperable solutions.

The Web3 Domain alliance recently expanded with an addition of 51 new members, after which it named interoperability as one of its main focuses for the year.

Woman Unsure if Marriage Can Survive Husband's Baby Revelation Splits Views

A mother of one has divided opinions online after questioning her marriage because she wants to have another baby while her husband says he's done with children.

In a post shared last month on the U.K.-based forum Mumsnet under the username Wantanotherandanother, she said that when she got married to her husband, who already had three teen children from a previous marriage, they discussed having kids, just not how many.

A few decades ago the typical American family had, on average, 2.5 kids, according to Statista. In 2022, this number had gone down to 1.94 children under 18.

Stock images show a pregnant woman holding her belly and a woman sobbing. A woman questioning her marriage because her husband doesn't want another baby has split views on the U.K.-based forum Mumsnet. Getty Images
After having a first baby, the poster, who is 35, now wants to have another, but her husband, 48, doesn't want to have any more.

She wrote: "I always hoped to have more and he knew that. I feel like he went into this knowing he'd always refuse any more. His reasons are related to his age and that he just feels physically done with having young children around. Financially we'd be ok.

"Can a marriage even survive this difference in opinion about something so huge? Neither of us [wishes] to compromise. I feel so sad every time I see a pregnant lady or baby and don't think that ache will ever go away," she said.

Evan Schein, the head of litigation at the Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein law firm in New York City, told Newsweek that the first phone call should be to the couple's therapist and not a divorce attorney.

He said: "Before deciding whether the marriage can last going forward, I would suggest having an open discussion with a third party. While this will not be an easy discussion, it will be an important one. Decisions about whether the marriage can survive a difference in opinion over this issue should be made only after careful thought and discussion."

Among the 1,259 users who voted in an Am I Being Unreasonable poll on Mumnset, opinions were divided, with over 51 percent saying the poster was being unreasonable.

One user, DuplicateUserName, commented: "Why didn't you discuss the number when you knew he's already got three kids? That's a fairly big leap from 3 to 5. As for whether your marriage can survive you not having another baby, I'm afraid only you know that. It sucks for you though."

The user went on: "Sorry I meant to add, what do you mean by compromise? What sort of compromise could there possibly be?"

User Coyoacan said: "I don't know OP. You don't seem to have [much] faith in your husband's integrity, so that is obviously not a good basis for a marriage."

Araiwa said: "[You are being unreasonable] to think people can't change their minds when new information comes to light."

Rupiduti wrote: "He is more than entitled to change his mind. There is no compromise, you want 1 more, he doesn't. One of you may end up unhappy. He's got 4 children already and is close to 50, I can get why he may not want anymore. You maybe should have discussed how many."

Viviennemary said: "I think if you have only one child and want another your DH should agree. It's not your fault he has children from a previous relationship. Maybe he can be talked round. That's what I would do."

Newsweek was not able to verify the details of the case.

Today's Wordle #621 Hints, Tips and Answer for Thursday, March 2 Game

Wordle, the word game developed by Josh Wardle during coronavirus lockdown, shows few signs of losing its extraordinary appeal, well over a year after it was first released to the public in October 2021.

The game is very simple, meaning it can be played by almost anyone, regardless of their past experience of word puzzles.

Each day the player has to guess a new five-letter word, in six attempts or fewer. After each guess the letters light up, indicating how accurate you were. If a letter goes green it is both in the word, and in the position you placed it. Yellow means the letter features, but not where you put it, while gray tells you it's not included at all.

Speaking to Newsweek in January 2022 Wardle, a New York-based software engineer, explained why he settled on five-letter words for his puzzle.

The word game "Wordle" is shown on a cell phone in Houston on January 12, 2022. Newsweek has some hints and tips to help you crack today's puzzle. Brandon Bell/GETTY

He said: "There is a reason that every word is five letters long and that you are allowed six attempts to guess it. That might seem arbitrary but, with the prototype version, I tested different word lengths and experimented with the number of tries that players were allowed.

"Through that process of refinement, I figured out that five letters and six tries was the ideal sweet spot. It's just limited enough to feel challenging and to make you think, but most of the time people still manage to solve it. So, you feel a real sense of real accomplishment."

Later that same month Wordle was purchased by the New York Times, for an undisclosed seven-figure fee.

If you enjoy Wordle there are a range of other online puzzles you might like to try, such as Typochondria, Spellspire or Wordscapes.

To help you solve today's WordleNewsweek has provided some tips. The answer to today's puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.
